Almost 9,000 Passengers were stuck at Auckland during flooding

Auckland Airport suffered severe flooding a few days ago, flights were cancelled all across the world, with one flight, an Emirates flight from Dubai to Auckland flew for 13 hours to end up nowhere. flight EK448 left Dubai at 06:57 UTC and after around 6 and a half hours in the sky it turned around and landed back in Dubai at 19:50 UTC

Almost 9,000 passengers around the world had their flight disrupted and Air New Zealand, who are the largest operator out of Auckland, are now trying to reimburse all disrupted passengers flights

Singapore airlines are also helped out by swapping their Boeing 777 from Singapore to Auckland to an Airbus A380

The Chief Customer and Sales Officer Leanne Geraghty stated:

Our friends at Singapore Airlines have up gauged an 777-300 to an A380 adding around 200 seats for our customers needing to get into or out of Singapore tonight.
We've (also) added an additional service from Los Angeles departing this evening which will get nearly another 300 customers back to Aotearoa New Zealand on top of the extra Niue flight scheduled for 2 February. And, our New York service tonight will stopover in Fiji to collect another 111 passengers on the way through.
We’re pulling all available levers to get customers on services as soon as possible. There will be some customers whose rebooked flight is further out than they would have hoped.
