London Heathrow's CEO has made the decision to step down from his role after 9 years in service working as CEO at LHR. The board of directors at LHR has recently thanked him for his hard work improving the airport and its services.
He announced that he would be stepping down on the 2nd of February 2023, although, he doesn't intend to leave his role until later this year to make time for the board to find and train a new CEO for the airport.
The chair of the airport Lord Deighton, released a statement saying
"John has been an extraordinary leader of Heathrow. During the past nine years, he has worked tirelessly and collaboratively with shareholders, Ministers, airlines and other stakeholders to ensure the country can be proud of its 'front door'. The Board would like to put on record our gratitude to John for his dedication and commitment to Heathrow throughout his tenure as CEO."
Holland-Kaye have done some very good things in his time, including, setting the airport to be 100% carbon neutral by 2050 and trying to help airlines reach the same goal with 100% sustainable aviation fuel.
The CEO changing will be a big change for Heathrow because Holland-Kaye has been there for almost a decade.
